A full hour after coming out and seeing everything, we actually started to open presents. I had two that had to be opened last, but other than that they got to choose which ones they opened.
They started with this, because when Ali moved it… it barked at her. lol So Winnie The Pooh was first.
FurReal Furry Frenzies– This was an attempt to find an actual toy… not stuffed, not educational, not a basic need… just a TOY. This just totally looked like something Ali would go nuts over. Not to mention how the dog would react. $15 with 2 animals.
You touch their nose to wake them up… and make them go or go to sleep by touching their back. They will run up the ramp into the wheel or just around on the tile/hardwood floor.
Though I think the coolest part is that you can use that little lever to release the wheel… and the animal and wheel rolls around the room. Hilarious. With how much this has been played with so far, if that continues I will get the rest of the creatures and the other track too for Ali’s birthday.
Sadi’s present wrapped with Pooh paper…
ZipBin Train – We have looked at other ZipBin’s before… but ultimately just never got them. The whole concept of everything going back INTO the toy is a wonderful one. This time I was looking at airport/train toys. This one was better than the airport one, coming with a track and everything. $9.
The presents wrapped in Rudolph were next…
Educational computer systems… Dragon Tales and Arthur. $7 each.
They picked the ones from Grandma Foster next. These were kind of a last minute thing… I had thought about getting them and decided to wait for Ali’s birthday. But kept thinking how much Grandma Foster also would have loved them. After her funeral I made the decision to get them and give them to them, from her.
Can you say speech therapy tool?? lol
Sadi still wasn’t quite sure…
Ali, definitely approved.
Sing-A-Ma-Jigs were decided upon after Grandma Foster passed away. They had been debated about before that… but they were just too perfect. So they got them from her.
There is several others that I believe we will probably collect over time. The adults have played with these more than the kids… Grandpa even took them with him to work. So we may end up with all of them at some point if the newness doesn’t wear off for everyone. The red one sings Yankee Doodle and the purple sings Clementine. $8 each.
Charlie Brown paper next!
Ali’s monkey jammies, Sadi’s butterfly jammies… $3 each.
I was a bit surprised at how much of a hit these were after everything else… I was afraid they wouldn’t be so exciting anymore.
Ali’s Berenstain Bears and Sadi’s Berenstain Bears… and Bean with all the Berenstain Bears. I got these 4 for the price of 1. :) $5 each.
I made them save the Snowman wrapping paper for last. (Which was easy because it was what my presents were wrapped in too, so they didn’t realize these were their presents.)
I knew once they opened these that they would want to play with them for longer than the other ones…. and wanted to let them do that.
Ali’s Dragon Tales puzzle and Sadi’s Michael Jackson puzzle… $5 and $15.
All of the above = $100 spread over 3 months.
The rather minimal aftermath, I managed to pretty much contain it as we went along. We still had to do Riley’s when he got home from work later.
